Salutation to the Directions
3m 29s
"Ding Namaskar" (Dik+Namaskara) is the salutation to the directions and is a daily practice for many in India. It warms the body and brings awareness and gratitude to our surroundings. Begin by facing east and as you bow offer gratitude to each cardinal directions and then the upper direction, downward direction and intermediary directions respectively. This is an introduction to the namaskar using short pauses after exhale. Eventually we become comfortable with longer pauses to allow space for recitation of mantra on the kumbhaka. More on that in a later video.
